The Algarve is undeniably one of Europe's most popular golf destinations. Endless golf courses are lined up along the beautiful south coast of Portugal. One of the best is the Amendoeira Golf Resort, 30 kilometers west of Faro, 20 minutes from Carvoeiro.
Two exceptionally good championship courses, perfect training facilities and a no less well-maintained nine-hole short course with floodlights make golf possible around the clock in the hills above Alcantarilha.

NAU Golf Courses
Morgado
North of Portimão, in the middle of a 980 hectare estate, in small, hilly valleys, is the Morgado golf course. The par 73 course is certainly one of the longest golf courses in the Algarve. The huge greens that demand good putting are also typical. The deep fairway bunkers are not to be sniffed at either!
According to the golf course architect, the course looks difficult, but is not unfair to play. There are no forced strokes on the greens; i.e. few obstacles such as bunkers, water, all of which are in front of the greens: there are always alternatives.
Alamos
The course is located next to its sister course "Morgado" in a fascinating landscape north of Portimão. Álamos has a pleasing variety of different holes: there are many undulating fairways and also very challenging greens.
This golf course is shorter than Morgado and only has half the number of its bunkers; Nevertheless, strategically planted trees make the game more difficult.
Salgados
Surrounded by the water
In one of the most famous areas of the Algarve, between Albufeira and Armação da Pêra, you will find this golf course, which is also considered a "postcard" of Portuguese golf. In the immediate vicinity of the sea and surrounded by lakes, golf skills are put to the test, especially on windy days.
This course is 6,200 meters long: laid out on the left on the sea side, many water hazards determine the game. Although these are not particularly large, they demand a lot from the player. However, exact discounts are also crucial in order to achieve good results. This makes this course a pleasure even for technically good players.
All 18 holes are very balanced. There are two almost 500 meter par 5 and two par 3 holes each, each over 170 meters long.
